New Orleans Pelicans Dominate Sacramento Kings in 133-100 Rout
Pelicans' McCollum Shines with 30 Points, Seven Threes
Sacramento, CA - April 11, 2024
In a resounding victory, the New Orleans Pelicans dismantled the Sacramento Kings 133-100 on ESPN on Wednesday night. CJ McCollum led the charge for the Pelicans, draining seven three-pointers en route to a 30-point performance.
The Pelicans asserted their dominance early, leading by as many as 50 points during the game. McCollum's hot shooting was complemented by solid contributions from his teammates, including Zion Williamson's six points in the first quarter.
The Kings, despite a strong start, were unable to keep pace with the Pelicans' offensive onslaught. After allowing an 18-0 run from New Orleans, the Kings responded with a 12-0 run to end the first quarter.
However, the Pelicans' defense held the Kings in check for much of the game. De'Aaron Fox, the Kings' leading scorer, was limited to just 15 points on 6-of-14 shooting.
The win improves the Pelicans' record to 28-47, while the Kings fall to 20-60, remaining 13th in the Eastern Conference.
